Hey, I'm Ali ElSheikh.

I'm a senior at Northwestern University, passionate about AI research and applications. My focus is on reinforcement learning (RL) applied to large language models (LLMs) for robot control applications (eventually hoping to deliver a generalized framework), optimizing how they learn and communicate with the world around them. Specifically, I explore how RL can enhance instruction-following, optimize prompt efficiency, and improve LLM robustness in multistep reasoning tasks.

Regarding quantitative finance, I test feature generation pipelines and model architectures for portfolio construction and asset pricing.

Outside of AI and finance, I enjoy scuba diving, swimming, and mountain biking.
